Administrative Support

Hey there! I have been teaching for 6 years and am currently working on my principal certification. I would like to tell you about a great website that I came across recently that gave wonderful incite into what Administrative Support really means to teachers around the U.S. The site is actually a blog developed by Pat Hensley, who is a retired teacher of 27 years. Obviously, being a blog, the site is really easy to read and offers great features such as email feedback opportunities with colleagues, discussion sections, and links to hundreds of other awesome teacher topics from relationships with parents, to technology, and cooperative learning. To discuss what Administrative support really means to teachers, Mrs. Hensley begins by offering up what she and her colleagues believe administrative support is, or should be. She then goes a little deeper and gets incite from Administrators on what they think support from them should look like. The blog then goes on to allow you to post yourself and start up conversations with teachers around the world. I think their is not a better tool out there, than speaking directly to teachers and administrators in our profession that have been there and done that. There is a lot of great advice given on this site, real and personal advice for teachers and administrators alike! The overall blog is rated 8.3, which is great, and who do you think rates this blog? TEACHERS!!! Just about anywhere you click on the site will take you to another area or site that gives tons of information on the teaching and administrative profession. At each of the places you go, there are several opportunities to discuss topics with colleagues. This is a great site for many areas of education, not just administrative support. I can assure you that as I continue my educational career, I will keep this site and others like in added to my favorites! Bye Bye!
